Maxinquaye is the debut studio album by British musician Tricky, released on February 20, 1995. The album is a mix of hip-hop, soul, dub, rock, and electronic music, and is considered one of the pioneering albums of the trip-hop genre. The majority of the album features vocals by British singer Martina Topley-Bird, with additional contributions from Alison Goldfrapp, Ragga, and Howie B. The album received critical acclaim and was named the best album of 1995 by NME and Melody Maker.
